Welcome to Pike Road Junior High School! I am Dawn Davis, and I teach 7th grade Math. The 2021-22 school year marks my fifth year with Pike Road Schools. Originally from Capitol Heights, Maryland, I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. I worked as a land surveyor, a floodplain map developer and a solid waste engineer before going on to serve as an engineering officer in the US Air Force. I have lived in Ohio, Guam, Arizona and Oklahoma. I also spent some time overseas in Qatar, Iraq and Afghanistan. My last assignment in the Air Force was as the ROTC Detachment 019 commander at Alabama State University and I retired in 2013. I earned a Master of Science degree in Secondary Math Education from Auburn University Montgomery in 2017 so I could become a math teacher. I am married to LaFrancis Davis, currently the band director at Hillcrest High School in Evergreen, AL. We have two children, Doris and Zachary.
